Weave and Read with East Kent Mencap in Herne Bay
During the Read and Weave sessions, a poem is read aloud. Any participant in the session who might wish to read is welcome to join in. We then discuss the poem in the group expressing how they feel about the poem, both verbally and non-verbally, by weaving using sustainable threads and locally sourced materials on the newly installed loom at the Herne Bay Hub.
The creation of the loom was the result of a successful tender for materials to Turner Contemporary who are working with The Studio Workshop on a project called Circular Margate. This project has been initiated to reuse materials from their past exhibitions.
